Soul Searching

A song I've heard at least 100 times played on the radio as I drove home from school today. The tune played as was all too familiar to me, but something was different. Even though I knew the words by heart...they somehow hit home to me today.

Have you been walking on a surface that’s uncertain

Have you helped yourself to everything that’s empty

You can’t live, This way too long,

There’s more than this, More than this

Have you been standing on your own feet too long

Have you been looking for a place where you belong

You can rest, You will find rest

(Chorus)

Let this old life crumble, Let it fade,

Let this new life offered be your saving grace,

Let this old life crumble let it fade, Let it fade

I'm at a point in my life where things/people/places that I once called home somehow seem foreign to me. I feel like Jo March from the book, Little Women, when she desperately needed to get away from her hometown in search of 'something more'. I don't want to sound like a snob, but there is not a whole lot Kingsport can offer me anymore. Don't get me wrong, it's my childhood home...a place of memories...growing and love.

I've lived a happy life so far. I've met many people who have touched my life in various ways. I can honestly say that even though I've had many friends over the years, only a handful I can truly say are my 'best'. Regardless of how long it's been since we've spoken, or how many miles away we are...or how much age difference between us...they have been my most special blessings.

To Karla, Lucy and *last but not least* Mom, thank you for being you and for being in my life. You three somehow 'understood me' from the moment I met each of you. I love each of you dearly and thank you for seeing the real me...and still loving me anyways.

I want, crave, need and desire my move to Florida...if I could I'd move next week! I do, however, need to finish my last semester of Nursing school at ETSU in the fall.
Even though I dream of my new life to come, I know I must make some big life changes here before I go.

I'm nowhere near where I need to be spiritually to withstand the vanity focused society of West Palm Beach, nor am I physically ready to meet the demands of my Nursing career. In a nutshell, my summer's focus' shall be to strengthen my spirit and strengthen my body. I truly want to be the Christian woman God wants me to be. I want to be a light and life to others around me and that others would see Jesus in my actions/thoughts/words/countenance.

Well, I do believe that is all for now.

Take care,

I love you all

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

The month of April is filled with birthdays in my immediate family, and yes some have already passed but it is NEVER too late for birthday love!

So..............

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY DAD (April 6th)
You have blessed your family with your love, witt and wisdom
May you always remain a kid at heart. I love watching CSI-Miami/Dirty Jobs with you. You have shown me how to grow things from seed and blessed me to inherit the ability to fix things that are broken. I love you!

Baby....baby....

Well, after what has seemed forever, I am finally over walking pneumonia!
It was the most annoying illness. One minute I felt great and ready to take on the world, the next minute I felt like I had been hit in the head with a baseball bat. I think I slept around 100+ hours last week...seriously!

Today was my first day out of the house in about a week. I went to the track and walked only a mile, for fear of doing too much too soon. It was so refreshing to move and breathe fresh air again. A light rain started around the 3rd lap which to my surprise felt cleansing.

Anywho, the big highlight of the day was when George and Angie brought Cadence *my great neice* over to play.

Here are some pics *click on the pictures for detail*

Another good ole' 3 am post!

Okay...so I finally got smart and went to the doctor and found out that my 'crappy bug' is walking pneumonia. *joy* lol
All I have to say is, praise God for health insurance! *and antibiotics*

I'm basically sleeping a lot and drinking fluids as well as eating horribly unhealthy comfort food ie: shrimp bisque / baked potato / dots etc.
I can't wait until I get over this so I can get back to my happy walking and healthy eating regimen.

School will officially be over for the semester in 2 weeks *and yes I am counting down the days...hours...minutes...seconds...milliseconds*

The thought of being able to read Patricia Cornwell and Charlotte Bronte' books again brings a smile to my face.
Anywho, I've got more pics from my day of photography from last week.

I hope everyone is having a great week!

The Best Medicine

Well, I've got some sort of crappy bug right now. I've got the good ole' stuffy/sinuses and achy all over...blah.
I usually walk 3 miles at a local track on saturday & sunday, but today *even though it's absolutely gorgeous outside* I must stay in and rest.

Anyways, as for the 'Best Medicine' title of the post....

This morning I sat on my back deck, with the sun shining on my face. The air was cool and breezy as it danced with the steam rising from my coffee mug. As I sat enjoying the morning, I looked around at the beautiful appalachian mountains that were lightly painted with bright greens and pinks. The mountains looked as though the late painter, Bob Ross, got his 2" brush mixed some sap green with cadmium yellow and decorated the bare mountains with life.

I got out my Kodak Z710 and walked around the front yard, here are more pictures for you:

Everyone, enjoy this gorgeous weekend! God bless you all
